Key Account Specialist

Position Overview

The Key Account Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing product listings, content maintenance, sales achievement, compliance with business development agreements (BDAs), and collections. They are tasked with ensuring comprehensive distribution while aligning Nestlé’s strategy with the needs of eRetailers to foster mutual business growth opportunities. Managing eRetailers’ financial aspects, including credit notes, aging reports, disputes, collections, and account statements, in a timely manner is also a key responsibility. Additionally, they are responsible for planning and executing trade strategies, managing stock levels, overseeing orders and deliveries, and cultivating enduring business relationships with eRetailers to establish Nestlé as the preferred supplier.

A Typical Day

  • Achieve sales targets for eRetailers across different product categories.
  • Ensure optimal coverage, core distribution, and visibility of Nestlé products within eRetailer channels, maintaining accurate and relevant content.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Development Team (CDT) to understand eShopper profiles and preferences, implementing insights accordingly.
  • Partner with the CDT to identify opportunities for category growth.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain to optimize order and delivery management and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to implement initiatives for better financial management, including dispute resolution and aging report management.
  • Monitor eRetailers’ business performance and develop action plans to drive growth or address any shortcomings.
  • Share monthly execution reports with pre- and post-evaluations, along with competitor activity analysis.
  • Provide insights from shopper observations and eRetailers’ feedback.
  • Execute deployment plans for new innovations and strategies in alignment with category objectives.
  • Drive initiatives with a data-driven mindset, leveraging sell-out data and shopper observations.
  • Implement eRetailer-specific promotions in line with category objectives and business development needs.
  • Ensure listing of new SKUs and achievement of point-of-purchase (POP) objectives while managing eRetailers’ databases.
  • Manage eRetailers’ financials, including balance confirmation, statement of account reconciliation, and credit note processing.
  • Manage trade spending effectively by leveraging ROI and sell-out data.
  • Ensure timely processing of credit notes, statement of account reconciliation, and collection of cheques.

Qualifications for Success

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing, sales, or digital.
