Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Data Scientist to foster a culture of innovation at Provation. The ideal candidate will have extensive practical data science experience and the ability to communicate insights and technical concepts effectively to executive audiences. This role requires innovative thinking, risk analysis skills, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while envisioning future data science products and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive execution to build and enhance a culture of innovation within the organization.
• Expand data science capabilities across the organization.
• Lead, manage, and inspire a cross-functional team to tackle significant growth challenges.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to understand business needs, and deliver comprehensive reviews that include data gathering, analysis, recommendations, and presentations.
• Contribute to various technical projects involving natural language processing, statistical analysis, machine learning, and analytical modeling.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for efficient progress and successful outcomes.
• Translate data science insights and methodologies into accessible language for non-technical audiences.
• Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
• Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information theory, language technologies, or a related field is required; a Master’s or PhD is preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Proven success in applying data science techniques to real-world business problems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, along with data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, matplotlib, seaborn).
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning techniques, and statistical modeling.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring data science teams.
• Experience in stakeholder management, project coordination, and effective communication within a technical environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.

Additional Knowledge and Abilities:

• Lead end-to-end data science projects from problem definition to model development and deployment.
• Design and develop machine learning models to analyze complex datasets and extract valuable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Implement advanced statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns in data.
• Develop predictive models and algorithms to support decision-making and drive business growth.
• Evaluate model performance and recommend improvements.
• Stay current with advancements in data science and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Provide technical guidance and support as needed.
