Senior Data Engineer – Remote – United States

Our Health Engineering Solutions (HES) team collaborates closely with clients to define a vision for success and turn that vision into reality. We understand that success is intentional and requires a skilled team working together to deliver the right solutions. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join our efforts in developing a next-generation analytics and reporting system that enhances healthcare quality for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, modify, execute, and test Airflow DAGs and/or Spark applications interacting with Postgres, Redshift, and Oracle databases.
  • Identify and troubleshoot defects in code and data.
  • Create and run DBT tests and Automated Testing Scripts.
  • Generate data engineering test plans.
  • Understand and test complex data models.
  • Implement and modify Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
  • Validate CSV output report files through manual and automated Python scripts integrated into Jenkins.
  • Report validation results and Data Model outputs, along with automation findings.
  • Collaborate closely with development and business teams to refine, implement, and execute data-related tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience as a data engineer, software developer, or tech lead.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in SQL and Python.
  • Must reside in the United States and be eligible for a Public Trust clearance, having lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with:
    • Database testing (DBT)
    • Postgres, Redshift, SQL
    • Apache Airflow DAG, Apache Spark, Python
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS), Jenkins (CI/CD)
    • Git and GitHub for version control
    • Alembic database migration tool
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Cloud Practitioner, Developer, Solution Architect, Data Analytics, Database).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts (e.g., OLAP, dimensional modeling).
  • Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid data.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Superset, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Looker.
  • Previous experience working remotely full-time.
  • Experience in federal government contracting.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • SAFe experience is a plus.

Pay Range: The pay range for this position is $84,533.00 – $143,706.00, dependent on factors such as relevant experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
