Are you passionate about live music and excited to tackle unique challenges? In the Music Monetization Team, we’re dedicated to creating the most trusted platform for discovering live events. We’re seeking a Data Scientist II to join our Product Insights team and help shape the future of live event discovery on Spotify.

Role Overview:

As a Data Scientist, you will leverage data to drive insights that inform our product strategy. You’ll analyze survey data to uncover consumer insights, explore user-level streaming behaviors, and develop new datasets and dashboards. We’re looking for someone who can set their own priorities and overcome obstacles, transforming our vast data resources into actionable insights that enhance user engagement with Spotify.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, user researchers, designers, and product managers to create innovative products and experiences for users.
  • Conduct segmentation analyses to understand user engagement and identify key pain points, helping to shape the future of our offerings.
  • Work alongside data engineering to develop and implement data modeling solutions, taking ideas from concept to production.
  • Convert data into insights that inform the development of new “go-to-market” products and app features.
  • Foster a culture of data curiosity and rigor to drive significant business impact.

Who You Are:

  • You have 3+ years of experience with a degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or relevant experience.
  • Proficient in coding (e.g., Python) and analytics tools (e.g., Pandas, SQL, R), with familiarity in machine learning packages as a plus.
  • You can translate business objectives into actionable insights and analytics findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Experience with quantitative survey research (e.g., conjoint/maxdiff), A/B testing, and marketing analytics is preferred.
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment and can work autonomously.

We offer flexible work arrangements, allowing you to work from where you feel most productive! This position is open to candidates within the North American time zone.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role in the United States is $107,765 – $153,951, plus equity. Benefits include health insurance, six months of paid parental leave, a 401(k) retirement plan, a monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, and 13 paid flexible holidays. Note that these ranges may be adjusted in the future.
