Role Overview: Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at Amount, you will enhance and support our data systems, including data pipelines, OLAP data stores, reporting dashboards, and client-facing Data APIs. You will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent, accurate, and reliable flow of data from our platforms to clients and internal stakeholders, particularly as we scale the data pipelines of our new 3rd generation lending platform.

You will leverage tools such as Python, Airflow, Argo, Spark, Trino, and Looker, along with AWS products like Redshift, S3, EMR, and Aurora, to build a world-class data platform for both internal and external users.

Salary Range: $84,000 – $95,000

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Enhancing existing data pipelines by adding new fields, improving performance, and integrating new data sources.
  • Designing new features for the Data Platform, improving scalability and reliability.
  • Providing operational support to ensure data availability within defined SLAs.
  • Collaborating with the Product team and other engineering teams to execute projects successfully.
  • Writing quality code, developing robust designs, and contributing innovative ideas.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong software engineering skills.
  • At least 1 year of experience building data pipelines using Python, SQL, and other data platform technologies.
  • A strong aptitude for learning new technologies and analytics techniques.
  • Experience with Java and/or Ruby is a plus.
