Position Summary

As a Data Analyst I, you will design, build, and maintain dashboards using Power BI and other BI applications, ensuring accuracy in reporting and providing actionable insights to various business units.

Essential Functions

  • Data Requests: Process requests from departments, using probing questions to fully understand their needs and how the data will drive business decisions.
  • Report Documentation: Complete report documentation and update the document library as projects are finalized.
  • Report Creation: Design and build user-friendly reports from existing databases for daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly use.
  • Collaboration: Work with users and management to establish report requirements, ensuring proper testing and validation.
  • Data Interpretation: Analyze and interpret data using statistical techniques to meet reporting requests.
  • User Guidance: Advise requestors on data interpretation and usage.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams to identify reporting needs and recommend improvements, including automation and efficiency enhancements.
  • Timely Implementation: Ensure timely delivery of data requests and maintain high service standards for all users.
  • Report Maintenance: Repair and update existing reports as needed and address user feedback for improvements.
  • Training: Schedule and conduct ongoing Power BI training for users.
  • Usage Metrics: Review report usage metrics and follow up with stakeholders for functionality improvements.
  • Project Management: Attend planning sessions to establish timelines and update project management tools as tasks are completed.

Other Essential Functions

  • Participate in departmental and company meetings as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Be prepared for potential overtime to meet workload demands.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in building SSRS reports and writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with Power BI, including DAX and M language.
  • Strong knowledge of RDBMS and data modeling.
  • Attention to data consistency and logical checks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Education & Licensing

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
  • SQL database or Power BI certification preferred.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Data and Analytics.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with SQL, Power BI, and Power Platform preferred.

Physical Work Requirements

The position is primarily sedentary but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The work environment is typical of an office setting with standard office equipment.
