BIM Engineer – United States – Remote

About the Role: VDC Engineer – Bentley Modeler
We are seeking a VDC Engineer with expertise in Bentley software platforms to join our team. In this role, you will lead projects, tackle complex interdisciplinary problems, manage and mentor other VDC staff, and apply your skills to improve project outcomes and quality. This position is an excellent opportunity to advance your VDC/BIM career and build your industry profile. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and manage project models in ProjectWise for OpenBuilding models, including directory structure, model files, geo-coordinates, and model exchanges.
- Perform modeling tasks using Bentley OpenBuildings, OpenRoads, OpenGround, and OpenRail platforms.
- Lead 3D trade coordination meetings and support coordination efforts across disciplines.
- Understand and apply various standards to different types of projects and clients.
- Develop best practices and templates for project execution and in-house initiatives.
- Oversee and manage complex interdisciplinary 3D coordination efforts, including clash detection.
- Lead research initiatives and support the development of new BIM practices in collaboration with VDC Management.
- Supervise and guide others in their research and BIM-related tasks.
- Assist in the development, augmentation, and implementation of EnTech and client-specific BIM standards.
- Manage QA/QC processes and BIM management for models created in Bentley platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, process, and technical issues.
- Ensure timely and on-budget completion of project deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or BIM/VDC, with a focus on the Bentley environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Architecture, Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related AEC discipline is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in creating and developing BIM models, drawings, and project management applications within the Bentley environment.
- Strong proficiency with Bentley OpenBuildings.
- Familiarity with point cloud data.
- Deep understanding of design, construction, and fabrication documents across multiple disciplines.
Preferred Software Skills:
- Bentley OpenBuildings, OpenRoads, OpenGround, MicroStation
- Synchro
- Familiarity with 3D Laser Scanning (LiDAR, SLAM, Drone)
- Experience with ProjectWise

Estimated Annual Compensation:
$75,000 – $95,000
