Artificial Intelligence Engineer – United States – Remote
As a key member of our team, the AI Software Engineer IV will play a pivotal role in designing and evolving cutting-edge AI solutions that transform the experience of our Technical Support Services teams. You will work alongside a talented team of AI and Automation Engineers, focused on building, deploying, and optimizing machine learning and generative AI-driven applications across multiple departments, including Help Desk, Field Service, Implementation, and Executive teams.
Leveraging your expertise in AI and Machine Learning, you will contribute to the development of innovative models, natural language processing (NLP), and data engineering initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Data Automation Engineers, Database Administrators, and Subject Matter Experts to manage and refine internal datasets, ensuring they meet business requirements set by internal stakeholders.
In this role, you will automate data processing, develop advanced AI/ML models, and build intelligent software applications designed to reduce customer downtime and enhance the overall customer experience. You will also lead the development and deployment of scalable generative AI solutions, pushing them beyond the prototype phase and ensuring they support both corporate and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Develop AI/ML Models: Implement and optimize AI/ML models, focusing on generative AI and NLP to improve data processing and predictive insights.
- Code Development: Write efficient, reusable, and testable code in Python, R, or PowerShell to support AI/ML pipelines and system integrations.
- ETL Pipelines: Build and manage ETL pipelines to prepare data for machine learning and analytics applications.
- API Development: Design and develop APIs to integrate ML models into applications and enable seamless interaction with external services.
- Full-Stack Development: Develop and maintain scalable applications that support real-time data analysis, visualization, and leverage AI components.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure high availability and performance of AI-driven applications.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest AI/ML advancements and incorporate them to continuously improve generative AI solutions and automation frameworks.
- Mobile Platform Expansion: Expand application capabilities to mobile platforms (iOS, Android) as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- AI/ML Application Optimization: Ability to recommend improvements for optimizing AI-driven applications and systems.
- Mentorship: Capable of mentoring and training team members on advanced AI/ML concepts and methodologies.
- Model Lifecycle Management: Expertise in the entire ML model lifecycle, including training, tuning, deploying, and monitoring models.
- Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills for working cross-functionally with teams to solve complex technical challenges.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience with Python, Databricks, R, and ML libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Cloud Platforms: Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and ML deployment services like Azure ML, Vertex AI, or AWS SageMaker.
- Full-Stack Knowledge: Understanding of full-stack development to build powerful dashboards and notifications for operational centers with a focus on AI automation.
- Generative AI & NLP Expertise: In-depth familiarity with machine learning, generative AI methodologies, and platforms like Microsoft’s Semantic Kernel, Google’s Vertex AI, or OpenAI API.
- Front-End & Back-End Development: Proficiency in front-end technologies (React, Angular, D3.js) and back-end tools (Node.js) for building tools that support SRE and Operations teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with 6–8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and PowerShell.
- Streaming Services: 3+ years of experience with messaging and streaming services like Kafka.
- Data Engineering: Strong understanding of data engineering, database management (MS-SQL, Databricks).
- API Development: Experience with developing and deploying RESTful APIs and integrating ML models.
- Machine Learning & Generative AI: Solid knowledge of machine learning techniques, including NLP and time-series analysis.
- Data Handling: Proven experience working with large datasets and performing complex data transformations.
- Application Development: Experience building AI-powered applications using front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Node.js.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
- Specialized Experience: 6+ years of experience in AI/ML model development, including fine-tuning LLMs, RAG, or other generative AI applications for chatbots and knowledge indexing.
- Automation & Integration: 3+ years of experience in automation, data integration, and AI-powered dashboard design.
- Healthcare/Pharma Experience: 1+ years of experience in AI-driven solutions for healthcare or pharmaceutical applications, ensuring PHI/PII compliance.
- Cloud Architectures: Familiarity with cloud architectures like AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes, and deploying ML models in cloud environments.
- IoT Experience: Experience in IoT device/asset management is a plus.
