Position Overview:
HackerOne is looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the DataOne team, where you will help create and scale high-performance data solutions that will serve as the foundation for the company’s data-driven insights. You will play a crucial role in shaping our data architecture and contribute to building impactful, reliable, and scalable data marts and data products. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our ability to make data-informed decisions and ensure that we continue to innovate in line with HackerOne’s mission.

What You’ll Do:
- Onboarding & Initial Impact (0-30 Days):
Begin with a warm welcome and comprehensive technical onboarding. Familiarize yourself with HackerOne’s technology stack, which includes Python, Airflow, Snowflake, DBT, Meltano, Fivetran, Looker, and AWS. Get to know the team and start understanding the business and technical needs. - First 60 Days:
Contribute to the development of high-impact, scalable data marts and data products, with a focus on optimizing our data architecture for performance and reliability. - First 90 Days:
Drive innovation in data practices, collaborate across departments, and help shape the future of HackerOne’s data ecosystem. Participate in ongoing improvements to enhance the discoverability, usability, and integrity of data across the company. - After 90 Days:
Lead and contribute to technical and product initiatives, driving cross-functional collaboration while managing competing priorities. Champion emerging technologies, best practices, and data quality standards. Help foster a culture of continuous learning and growth across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the discovery, architecture, and development of scalable, high-performance data marts and products that will serve as the source of truth for data at HackerOne.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to identify and prioritize data needs.
- Improve the discoverability, consistency, usability, and security of data across the company.
- Drive continuous innovation in data technology and industry best practices.
- Mentor and share expertise with colleagues to foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Manage and deliver cross-functional projects, balancing competing priorities and business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar data-focused role, with a proven track record of developing and launching source-of-truth data solutions.
- Extensive experience building and optimizing data pipelines, products, and solutions.
- Strong SQL proficiency, with the ability to manipulate and analyze data in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Expertise in data visualization, with experience using tools like Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to tell compelling data-driven stories.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with US EST and CST time zones.
- Proficiency in a data programming language such as Python or Scala.
- Experience with modern data tools and technologies, including Airflow, Snowflake, Meltano, Fivetran, DBT, and AWS.
- Experience working with data from business applications such as Salesforce, Clari, Workday, GitLab, and Slack.
- Familiarity with designing advanced data visualizations and interfaces, with experience using design tools like Figma or equivalents.
