Position: Postgres Database Administrator III
Salary Range: $92,036 – $127,700 – $163,364

Role Overview:
The Postgres Database Administrator is responsible for a range of database administrative tasks, including patching, capacity management, performance management, and backup/recovery configurations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write complex stored procedures and queries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database schemas and warehouses.
  • Understand the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Administer and manage PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
  • Facilitate integration between Oracle and Postgres.
  • Design and assess data models for performance.
  • Implement security and backup strategies.
  • Ensure optimal database performance and smooth operations.
  • Handle production and non-production environment deployments.
  • Evaluate patching requests and communicate constraints and risks.
  • Support IT security audit reporting and change management SOPs.
  • Provide technical leadership on database technologies.
  • Mentor less experienced DBAs and IT staff.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and failover planning and testing.
  • Provide on-call support after hours and on weekends (rotational).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the PBM or healthcare industry is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Experience in cloud-based multiuser environments (Azure preferred).
  • Proficient in database performance optimization and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (GIT, GitHub, Bitbucket).
  • Experience with Oracle data migration and reconciliation.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux-based databases and NOSQL databases (Cosmos DB, Redis preferred).

  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage infrastructure projects and architect technology solutions.
  • Incident and change management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Travel Requirements:
Some domestic travel and attendance at local conferences may be required.
