Accountant – The Emirates Group – Dubai

Ensure the timely processing, accounting, and payments of supplier invoices, incentives, and refunds. Also, conduct processing and reconciliation of Sales/Revenue Recognition/Interline transactions and non-airline partner billings to ensure accuracy and completeness through internal controls and reviews.

Identify discrepancies through audits, address undercollections, investigate balance movements, and ensure accurate reconciliations with minimal exceptions and adjustments.

Analyze and report flight revenue yields, ensure alignment of all functional units with the Quality Management System, and update system-related data accurately and promptly.

Compile, monitor, and follow up on accounting and control reports from outstations, validating contents through thorough analysis.

Job Accountabilities Linked to Objective Areas:

Generic Responsibilities:

Review processes, analyze high-risk areas, conduct quality checks, and maintain prevention and detection controls to ensure completeness, timeliness, and accuracy in processing, accounting, billing, and settlement. Resolve disputes, queries, and discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders. Identify areas for improvement and actively participate in projects, system enhancements testing, and process changes to enhance business processes. Ensure integrity of interfaces and completeness of generated data by the system. Provide support on key processes and deliverables in the absence of Finance Officer and assist in month closing reviews. Provide data analytical support for Management Information Systems (MIS), KPIs, and Revenue Assurance. Specific to EK Revenue Services:

Outstations Receivables Management:

Monitor and perform accounting functions including receivable, receipting, and allocation for all Centralised stations, ensuring adherence to internal and external accounting timelines. Support Outstations staff on receivable accounting, processing, system, and procedure-related queries. Validate information provided by stations by running necessary checks and comparing it with Finance and accounting manual for outstation (FAMOVS) and internal controls. Escalate critical issues impacting deliverables to management after performing necessary analysis and actions. Provide regular updates, reports, and feedback to Line Manager and Stakeholders on reconciliation positions and account status. Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications:

Minimum of 12 years of schooling or equivalent. Additional finance-related qualification is preferable. Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Consideration given to 10 years of schooling and 6+ years of relevant experience. Knowledge/Skills:

Accounting knowledge preferably from an airline background. High level of computer literacy with proficiency in office automation software like Word, Excel, MS Access, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical and investigative skills. Effective communication, both oral and written, with various stakeholders. Ability to work independently within an established framework.
